LESSONS ON FIELD AND CROSS-COUNTRY RIDING
It is never too late to learn to ride. Riding does not require that much strength and durability but co-ordination and persistence. For beginners we offer riding lessons in the field on calm and experienced horses. We learn everything form the very beginning: how to approach a horse and win the trust of this big but a bit timid animal, how to brush, saddle and bridle a horse, etc. For those, who already know the elementary things about riding or are experienced riders, we offer the opportunity for cross-country riding. The surrounding landscape is beautiful all year round. We have tracks of different length (1 – 4 hours) and different level for riders with different skills.
The price for field or cross-country riding is 200 EEK ( 13 EUR) per hour.
RIDING TOURS IN LAHEMAA NATIONAL PARK
Lahemaa National Park was established in 1971 and is nowadays the biggest (480 km2) national park in Estonia. It is famous for its varied nature and rich cultural heritage. Lahemaa is sparsely populated and its beautiful forests with narrow quiet sandy tracks are perfect for riding. The tours will take us through the Lahemaa National Park, to old fishing villages and along lovely sandy beaches on the Baltic Sea coastline. We will visit the 18-th-century manors and experience other examples of Estonia`s rich historical heritage.
You may choose a trip of one to five days. We try to start our trips at 10 or 11 a.m. from Kuusekännu Riding Farm. We ride 25-45 km during a day, 3-5 hours on horseback. All trips are organized by a person who is experienced in horses and local life
The price includes meals, accommodation in a hotel, a guest house or a homestead (B&B), the use of a horse, local taxes but not insurance. If you are prepared to spend a night in a tent, the price will be reduced 200 EEK per night per person. However, you should bring your own tent. All the equipment is taken to the places where we stop by car. Horses need not carry the load.
Although all our horses are good-natured and well trained, it is advisable to wear a riding hat.
We arrange long riding trips from May to November.
If you plan to take a riding trip in spring or summer, we recommend that you make your booking well in advance.
The maximum number of a group is nine persons and the minimum number is four.
We can arrange transportation from Tallinn to the Kuusekännu Riding Farm and back to Tallinn by request in advance. The rent of minibus (2500 EEK = 160 EUR) will be divided between the number of passengers.
